‘Genius’ beach hack that stops your sheet from blowing away as people question ‘why did i never think of this’

SOMETHING to sit on at the beach is an essential to any day by the seaside, even if you are just there for an hour.

Whether it is a sandy shoreline or one covered by shingles and rocks, it is uncomfortable to perch yourself on the ground.

A towel, blanket or a sheet can all do the job, especially when you are trying to dry off from swimming in the sea – but on a windy day, they can be troublesome to keep flat.

Some use rocks to hold down the corners, while others use heavy items they’ve brought such as bags and shoes to stop the sheet or towel from blowing away.

However, TikToker Bri revealed her ‘genius’ hack to keeping it in place while you enjoy yourself at the beach.

In the video, she takes a white sheet, spreading it out before tucking each corner inwards underneath a heap of sand, using the tiny stones as the weight to keep it down.

The beach trick left many perplexed with one commenter saying: “We’re doing this over the summer.”

Meanwhile, another replied to Bri’s video: “Why did I never think of this.”

And a third said: “This worked for me. I’m not lugging all that junk to the beach to put in the corners.”

This hack is simple to do with many already having a sheet at home, ready to be used at the beach, as well as you will not need to carry a lot of heavy items to the seaside, particularly if you are travelling on foot.

Other commenters offered alternatives ranging from placing rocks on each corner of the sheet to taking a fitted sheet and holding it down with bags and coolers to create wall effect for relax in.

Meanwhile, Lay & Stay also offered another solution, where they have created beach towels that allow you to peg them down into the sand to keep in place.

Yet, Bri’s hack is not the only one floating around, with one woman revealing how she removes sand from her towels and belongings after a day at the beach.

Another passed on her tips for visiting the seaside she had learned from her husband including using a makeup brush to apply sunscreen to your child and baby powder working wonders to get rid of the tiny stones from your body.
