‘Awesome’ beach hack perfect for your ‘hot girl summer’ to keep you sheltered on a windy day – and it costs under £10

SUMMER is the perfect time to head to the beach with the glorious sunshine and long, warm days allowing you to relax by the seaside for hours on end.

Aside from taking a dip into the ocean, most love to lay on the sand and top up their sun tan – but the sun can become too much at times.

A beach umbrella is brilliant for this, blocking out its hot rays and giving you a better chance to have a nap, while others are more sensitive to being left burnt.

Yet, simply plunging the stick into the sand will not suffice on a windy day, as is the case quite often at the seaside.

That is where the sand anchor comes in handy, with TikToker Sambarrassed revealing that the tool prevents “flying umbrellas that shouldn’t get in the way of your hot girl summer.”

In the video, she showed her viewers how to use it, with the anchor coming with a screw on end to wedge into the sand, using the handles on the end to twist it down into the ground.

Once the anchor is in place, you can place your umbrella into the hole on top, using the knob on the side to tighten it.

People flooded to the comments to express their love for the tool, with one person remarking: “I just bought one a few days ago! LOVE IT!”

Another added: “This is the only way I will do umbrellas at the beach.”

Meanwhile, others were suggested places to buy a sand anchor, particularly in the US, with some suggesting Sam’s Club, Costco, Big Lots and Five Below.

Sami, who posted the TikTok video, revealed that she purchased hers at Walmart, where you can find one for $5.41.

In the UK, they are lot harder to come by, but you can grab one from Amazon for £9.99.

A sand anchor is not the only beach hack you should consider as you can also use the ground to help keep your sheet from blowing away while at the seaside.

For those with kids, applying sunscreen and wiping off sand can be difficult without these handy tricks, while removing the tiny stones from toys and towels can be just as painstaking until you use a laundry basket to shake them all out.
