‘Smart’ beach hacks to put on sunscreen and remove sand as people realise they have been ‘wrong this whole time’

GOING to the beach is one of best ways to spend a hot summer’s day with the family and to see your children running around in the sand.

Yet, kids will only want to go and splash around in the sea or make sandcastles without worrying about getting burnt by the sun.

Getting them to sit still while you apply the sunscreen or wipe them down from sand afterwards can be troublesome, even with the calmest of children.

However, TikToker Kat Kamalani revealed her useful beach tips that will make every parent’s life easier while visiting the seasider.

The mother revealed that her husband had shared the hacks that he had learned from being born and raised in Hawaii, which she now uses for her own young child.

In the video, Kat first shows her partner using baby powder to remove sand from her son’s leg, whereby he applied the powder before rubbing it away along with the tiny rocks that had stuck to the kid during their time at the beach.

She followed that up by grabbing a tube of sunscreen and putting some onto a small makeup brush.

Kat then used the brush to apply the cream to her child’s face and body, where it was easy to drift over his skin, as well as soaking up evenly without a lot of white streaks and patches.

The final tip created a small pool for the children to play in, where her husband dug a hole in the sand on the beach, before collecting water from sea and pouring it inside and creating a fun play area without the worry of the crashing ocean waves.

Kat’s hacks left her viewers perplexed with one saying: “These hacks are so cool! The baby powder is coming to my next beach trip!”

Meanwhile, another added: “I’ve been putting sunscreen on wrong this whole time.”

And third said: “Saving this for when I have a kid in 7 years.”

Like Kat, these ‘life-changing’ tips can provide an easier option to making sure your child remains burn and sand free, while also having fun at the beach – and many will already have these items at home.

Any parent with a young child will already have baby powder stashed away, especially to avoid nappy rash, while a bucket to dig the hole is a must-have to keep your kid entertained by the seaside.

Yet, if you don’t have a small makeup brush, you can get one for just £1 from Boots for those in the UK.

Meanwhile, Americans only need to go to CVS where they are available from $3.
